 XTP II FT 402 8K SM 8K HDMI & DisplayPort Transmitter - Singlemode 60-1779-12

The XTP II FT 402 8K two-input 8K transmitter sends HDMI or DisplayPort, audio, control, and 1 Gbps Ethernet over two fiber optic cables. This HDCP 2.3-compliant transmitter accepts data rates up to 40.1 Gbps for support of HDMI resolutions up to 8K/60, including 5K for Microsoft® Teams® rooms. It accommodates DisplayPort resolutions up to 4K/60. The transmitter features auto switching between inputs, analog stereo audio embedding, and local HDMI output. Ethernet extension and insertion of bidirectional RS‑232 allow LAN access and remote AV device control. Signals can be sent up to 400 meters (1,312 feet) over OM4 multimode fiber optic cable and up to 10 km (6.21 miles) when using singlemode cable. The XTP II FT 402 8K is ideal for systems requiring secure, long-distance transmission of high data rate sources from a remote location.

Built for Professional Integration

Extron XTP II 8K Fiber products deliver another leap forward with industry-leading capabilities for XTP Systems®. The XTP II FT 402 8K provides design and integration flexibility with support for both HDMI and DisplayPort sources. The local HDMI output mirrors the video and audio being sent over the fiber output with independent mute capability.

In addition to high-performance video, the transmitter extends audio signals over the same fiber optic cable. The HDMI and DisplayPort inputs support multiple embedded digital audio formats as well as stereo analog audio embedding.  To allow precise control of the analog audio, the transmitter features audio input gain and attenuation adjustments.

The XTP transmitter includes an RS‑232 insertion port, allowing bidirectional control of an AV device over the same fiber optic cable. This feature simplifies integration with a control system for managing the source device. In addition, centralized 10/100/1000 Base‑T communication can be supported via the 1 Gbps Ethernet extension port to reduce the number of independent network drops required within a system. Ethernet extension is disabled when video data rates exceed 32 Gbps.

The XTP II FT 402 8K can be used with an XTP II FR 401 8K receiver for point-to-point environments or in combination with an XTP II CrossPoint® matrix switcher for AV signal switching and distribution applications. Integrated with XTP II CP Fiber 8K input and output boards, the XTP II FT 402 8K enables transmission of uncompressed 8K/60 HDMI and 4K/60 DisplayPort video throughout the system. This approach takes advantage of system-level control and the capability to extend inserted RS‑232 between the equipment room and a remote endpoint.

Multimode and Singlemode Models Available

The transmitter provides industry standard LC-type connectivity and is available in two formats: multimode and singlemode. The XTP II FT 402 8K MM model supports OM4 multimode fiber optic cable for moderate-range transmission distances of up to 400 meters (1,312 feet). Typically, it is used within office towers, campus buildings, retail centers, and larger houses of worship.

The XTP II FT 401 8K SM model supports singlemode cable, offering long-range transmission capability of up to 10 km (6.21 miles). It is used in large facilities and for digital signage and staging applications. Singlemode is also used to connect locations separated over long distances, such as corporate and university campus buildings, international airports, and medical complexes. Because content transmission is inherently secure and immune to outside interference, fiber applications are also favored in government, military, and other sensitive environments.

Extron XTP Systems

Extron XTP Systems provide a completely integrated switching and distribution solution for multiple digital and analog formats. They support local connectivity as well as extended transmission capability for sending high resolution video, audio, RS‑232, and Ethernet up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CATx cable and up to 10 km (6.21 miles) over fiber optic cable. Each system is HDCP compliant and delivers ultra-fast, highly reliable digital switching with Extron's SpeedSwitch® Technology.

At the heart of a system is an XTP II CrossPoint matrix switcher. The modular matrix switchers are expandable from 4x4 to 64x64, depending on frame size, and can be populated with a wide variety of XTP I/O matrix boards. Input and output boards provide direct HDMI, 12G-SDI, and audio connections to local sources and displays, and signal extension to remote endpoints when using XTP transmitters and receivers. The matrix switcher can also provide power to a remote XTP device over CATx cabling, depending on the transmitter model.

The online XTP System Builder gives convenient access for complete system design. The tool also features a printable bill of materials, pricing, and quote submittal. Once the order is confirmed and received, the included XTP System Configuration Software enables easy setup and configuration right out of the box.

To configure, operate, and monitor the system in real time, user-friendly control software offers a complete view of all XTP devices from a computer. With hot‑swappable modular components, a wide selection of XTP transmitters and receivers, and advanced 24/7 system monitoring, XTP Systems are designed to provide continuous, trouble-free operation in the most critical applications.
