The Extron Retractor SM is a patented, variable-speed cable retraction and management system for HDMI in collaboration systems. Connect a Show Me^® cable to a source and press the Share button to share content on the main display. The Retractor SM cable extends up to three feet (90 cm) and holds securely in place at the desired length. It retracts with the press of a button. The cable passes source signals unprocessed, and it also actively adapts dual-mode DisplayPort to HDMI. The Retractor SM works with Cable Cubby^® Series, NBP 1200C, and TLP Pro 725C cable access enclosures, plus the TMK 120 R Table Mount Kit.

Retractor SM cable retraction modules are equipped with Extron Show Me cable assemblies. Operation is simple and intuitive. Connect the Show Me cable to a laptop or tablet to start the system. By pressing the Share button, the switcher automatically selects the appropriate input and the button lights for easy identification. The Show Me cable meets Section 508 accessibility standards and is specifically designed for durability and long functional life within the Retractor SM module.

The Retractor SM module is engineered for long life and reliability in schools, libraries, conference rooms, and other high-utilization environments. It includes a pre-loaded, continuous cable for a single signal type, ensuring consistent, reliable performance regardless of cable extension length. A six-foot (1.8 m) pigtail is provided on the system end of the Retractor cable for ease of installation and connection to under-table electronics or floor boxes.

When used with Cable Cubby cable access enclosures, Retractor SM Cable Cubby Mount Kits are required to complete the installation. The kits are designed to support most of the Cable Cubby Series, EBP 1200C, NBP 1200C, and TLP Pro 725C cable access enclosures. The Cable Cubby Mount – Triple holds up to three Retractor SM modules. The Cable Cubby Mount – Quad includes two mounting brackets, each of which supports up to two Retractor SM modules. Two triple or quad mount kits are required with Cable Cubby 1402 enclosures, one per side. For the Cable Cubby 700 and TLP Pro 725C enclosures, two triple mount kits are required, one per side. The Retractor SM Filler Module can be added to fill unused spaces in the Retractor SM Cable Cubby mounts. The Filler Module includes a Blank Cover Plate, as well as a Cable Pass-Through Plate that accommodates stereo audio, network, or other cables to support Retractor SM modules.

Modules can be mounted vertically for ease of installation next to a table leg or desktop support, or horizontally under a table top or other flat surface. For horizontal mounting applications, the Retractor SM Horizontal Bracket Kit supports up to three modules. To accommodate varying work surface heights, the Retractor SM also supports a 30-degree angle from vertical for additional clearance above the floor. For collaboration applications where under-table mounting is more appropriate, the TMK 120 R Table Mount Kit supports up to two Retractor SM modules. The TMK 120 R positions the Retractor SM modules for convenient access from the table's edge while providing maximum leg room below the surface.
