Anaheim, California (March 13, 2025) - Extron announced today the new Quantum DTP3 input and output cards for long-distance signal extension for videowall systems. The Quantum IN4DTP3 is a four-input card that eliminates the need for DTP3 receivers when source devices are located a long distance from the Quantum Ultra II processor. Each input on this card allows selection of either twisted pair or HDMI formats, and power insertion enables remote powering of DTP3 or DTP transmitters. The Quantum OUT4DTP3 card has four DTP3 outputs, eliminating the need for DTP3 transmitters when the displays are located a long distance from the processor. Each DTP3 output features a corresponding buffered HDMI output to support local displays, streaming, or recording eqipment, and power insertion to remotely power DTP3 or DTP receivers. Both cards support signals up to 4K/60 at distances up to 330 feet (100 meters). Configured with Quantum DTP3 input and/or output cards, Quantum Ultra II videowall processors simplify signal extension for your large venue projects and mission-critical environments.

“System designers and integrators asked for an easy way to extend signals for remote sources and videowall display devices and now they can,” says Casey Hall, Chief Marketing Officer for Extron. “Our new Quantum DTP3 I/O cards deliver all that is needed and more for Quantum Ultra II systems to integrate perfectly into a wide range of environments, from education and community presentation venues to government and utility command centers.”

Quantum IN4DTP3 and Quantum OUT4DTP3 cards provide system flexibility and simplify signal extension. Twisted pair format is selectable per channel between DTP3, DTP, and XTP modes, letting system designers choose the most suitable technology for the application. Embedded audio can be managed between input and output cards or sent to a Dante network when paired with a Quantum OUT32AT card. For peripheral device control, RS-232 signals can be inserted from the Quantum Ultra II Ethernet control port, providing a simplified method to remotely control source devices. To further streamline the videowall system, power insertion enables remote powering of the DTP3 or DTP endpoints.

Quantum Ultra II is the next generation of Extron videowall processors, providing advanced, future-ready connectivity and throughput capabilities. The HyperLane video bus delivers unmatched real‑time performance with a throughput of up to 500 Gbps. The HDMI 4K PLUS, FOX3, and DTP3 input and output cards feature 18 Gbps connections that support resolutions up to 4K/60 at 4:4:4 with HDCP 2.3 compliance. 8K/60 sources can be accommodated as a quad-path signal. Embedded source audio can be routed to each active canvas or a Dante network. The processor can support up to 20 canvases with mixed resolutions and screen orientations. Features such as portrait and landscape output support, output overlap, and custom output resolutions ensure display compatibility. RS‑232, USB, and Ethernet interfaces provide direct connection to control systems.
