Anaheim, California (October 17, 2023) - British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in Vancouver, British Columbia, needed more space to meet the ever-increasing requirement for well-trained healthcare professionals throughout the province. Their new Health Sciences Centre (HSC) meets this need, bolstering theoretical studies with scenario-based experience using a wide array of products and technologies from Extron.
“McSquared as the design consultants, AVI-SPL as the integrator, and Extron as a key equipment provider for this project worked closely as a team right up to system completion,” says Marcel Schoenenberger, Principal Consultant at McSquared System Design Group Inc. “Together, they provided the BCIT School of Health Sciences with one of the world's most advanced training sites for healthcare professionals.”
The Extron NAV Pro AV over IP system facilitates instantaneous AV signal routing of audio, USB data, and HDMI video at optimal quality on BCIT’s network. A selection of other Extron products ensure pristine sound and intuitive control at each lab station and within the control room associated with each pair of labs. Lecture capture and streaming capabilities complete the installation. Content is available for local presentation and remote display across campus and beyond.
BCIT’s new HSC is the largest center for simulation-based healthcare training in Canada and is acknowledged as one of the most advanced in the world. Since the first day of class, it has been supporting innovative, progressive clinical education through active learning and sophisticated simulations. The integrated Extron NAV system and other products and technologies are helping to ensure that the students receive the instruction and experience they require to best serve the medical needs of British Columbia’s citizenry.
