Anaheim, California (June 27, 2012) - Poway Unified School District in Southern California has standardized on the Extron PoleVault AV switching and control system for all of its classrooms. The district established a multi-year project with the primary goal to install a common AV technology platform in all classrooms and, so far, over 1,100 systems have been installed. According to PUSD Chief Information Technology Officer, Robert Gravina, the district sought to ensure that the technology they installed would be easy to use so that teachers would take advantage of it. They also needed a comprehensive solution that would be easy to support. The perfect solution was Extron’s PoleVault System which unifies all components in one neat and compact package, and provides teachers with a true multimedia teaching environment. A recent survey showed that 89% of PUSD teachers regularly use their PoleVault Systems.
“PoleVault gives us a simple, comprehensive system that is easy for us to install, easy for teachers to use, and easy to support,” Gravina says.
Anthony Cortes, Director of Sales and Marketing, K-12 Classroom Systems for Extron adds, "PoleVault is a complete system that addresses the need for consistency in the district."
Poway Unified School District operates 25 elementary schools, six middle schools, five comprehensive high schools, and one continuation high school. Covering over 100 square miles, it is the third largest school district in San Diego County and serves approximately 34,000 students.
