Extron Announces New MKP 3000 Matrix Switcher X-Y Remote Control Panels

Anaheim, California (June 8, 2005) - Extron Electronics is pleased to announce the MKP 3000, a compact, mountable X-Y remote control panel designed to work with any of Extron's extensive line of matrix switchers via Ethernet or RS-232. The new controller features an intuitive LCD user interface. A simple, selection-knob provides access to inputs and outputs (X-Y mode), global presets, and audio volume settings, without the need for a computer or third-party control system. The MKP 3000 is available in two versions and is ideal for use in command and control facilities, training rooms, and many types of presentation environments such as conference rooms, hotel ballrooms, and themed restaurants. "The MKP 3000 offers a convenient point of control that can be mounted virtually anywhere," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron Electronics. The MKP 3000's integrated IP Link® high performance Web server provides internal web pages that offer an intuitive graphical interface for easy set-up and configuration. Inputs, outputs, and presets can be named for ease-of-use by non-technical operators. Virtual I/O grouping allows specific inputs and outputs to be assigned or blocked for each controller, ideal for creating independent, custom switching zones with a single matrix switching system. The MKP 3000 includes Ethernet and RS-232 serial control ports for control of any Extron matrix switcher. An RS-232 pass-through is also provided to support applications where the MKP 3000 will be used in conjunction with third-party control systems. The MKP 3000 MAAP is compatible with the optional MKP 10 MAAP 10-key keypad, which provides direct access to inputs and outputs. The MKP 3000 lists for $825.00. The MKP 3000 MAAP, which features a four-space opening for Extron Mini Architectural Adapter Plates (MAAP's) or the MKP 10 MAAP, lists for $875.00.
