"Many traditional ceiling speaker systems do not sufficiently distribute audio throughout the classroom, resulting in gaps in coverage or hot spots," says Lee Dodson, Vice President of Marketing for Extron. "These difficulties are eliminated with the Extron FF 120T speaker. With a very wide dispersion pattern and our exclusive patent-pending Flat Field technology that delivers uniform sound pressure level distribution to all students, a pair of FF 120Ts will provide the coverage needed for most classrooms."
Extron's patent pending Flat Field technology makes this speaker truly unique. Flat Field technology redirects radiated sound waves from the 3" driver to better equalize sound pressure levels across the listening area. With the combination of Flat Field Technology and wide dispersion area, only two FF 120T speakers are required in a standard classroom, as opposed to four or more traditional ceiling speakers. This translates to simpler installation and lower cost, both in speaker components and installation labor. Another unique benefit of the FF 120T design is that it has the same appearance as an air handling vent in a suspended or drop-in ceiling. This makes it less prone to theft or tampering.
The FF 120T offers 70 volt or 100 volt operation, and provides power taps for 16, 8 ,4, 2, and 1 watt. For easy installation and theft deterrence, the FF 120T features a neutral white, perforated steel grille and included T-bar, which matches the appearance of standard air conditioning vents and grid ceilings.
