Anaheim, California (June 30, 2003) – Extron Electronics introduces the VTG 300, a simple-to-use, handheld, battery-operated video and audio test generator. This, simple-to-use, battery-powered video and audio test generator features high-resolution, computer-video, plasma, HDTV and 16:9 rates, as well as standard resolution NTSC and PAL video signals such as component video, S-video, and composite video. The 10 test patterns can be utilized in conjunction with any one of the 31 scan rates to facilitate optimum video system alignment, calibration, and signal reproduction. The integrated audio tone generator has six audio test signals available, including frequency sweep, pink noise, white noise, sine waves, square waves, and a polarity test waveform for frequency settings, distortion, and polarity verification in speaker wire. "A must for every technician's tool kit, this new addition to our popular test generator line not only combines audio and video testing in one portable, lightweight, handheld unit, but the new battery-powered capability makes it especially easy-to-use in the field," said Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. "With 31 video scan rates, 10 video test patterns, and six audio test signals, the VTG 300 is a handy, invaluable tool for projector set-up, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting video and audio signals in AV applications." The test generator features a streamlined user interface with an easy-to-read, backlit LCD display and 13 rubber pushbuttons for direct and simple access to video and audio functions. When turned off, recent settings are stored and automatically recalled when the unit is turned on again. Housed in a compact and rugged enclosure with a protective rubber boot, the battery-operated VTG 300 is ideal for portable field use, as well as bench testing. It is also useful for testing and evaluating permanent, integrated AV systems. The Extron VTG 300 lists for $995.00 (USD).
